With warmer temperatures and Spring on the horizon, bright flowers and bold colours seemed an appropriate choice (taking a page out of Pushing Daisies' fabulous fashion book). Long-sleeved dresses are also a nice way to transition from winter into spring, balancing the need to finally pull on a dress after those longer winter months with more functional considerations like not freezing upon going outside. It was great fun to romp around Andersonville, with all of its brightly-coloured murals, and have it feel actually warm. At long last!I dressed this up with a set of truly ancient heels from Le Chateau (a Canadian company that I frequented when I was younger), that are actually surprisingly comfortable, but I could definitely see pairing this dress with black flats or flirty red heels (and no tights). Finally, this fun yellow coat was actually given to me by a friend (thanks Erin!). Coloured coats are certainly something new for me, as coats were always such big ticket purchases that I thought you needed to play it safe with blacks or browns. Clothing swaps, thrifting and a myriad of online options now make it a little easier to go bold. Yay!
