the last day of Scotland
D and I spent the morning hard at work, marking exams and reading papers. Much to my glee, I successfully completed all my marking. While D held various meetings at the University, I ran around the city finishing errands. Picking up pre-booked train tickets was surprisingly quick, and I was left with time to wander and souvenir shop. After the requisite postcard/magnet stop, I somewhat wearily made my way back to the University to pick up David (while the city is eminently walkable, it is a little tiring to be walking back and forth from Old to New Town). He was keen to visit the Whisky Shop at the Princes Mall, so we made our way down and gained a little insight into the "peaty" whiskies from Islay. After picking up a few bottles (of varying sizes) for a relatively reasonable price, we and our purchases trucked back to Old Town to sit down and relax a bit. D and I bided our time in a Starbucks on the Royal Mile before meeting up with Greg for a last pint and haggis. We found a pub ("The World's End), ales and whisky were thrown back, and we said our goodbyes, before heading back home to pack.
